Terms of Service

Last updated January 2026

These terms cover working with SiteSee, a one-person web design studio on Long Island, NY. By hiring us or paying for a build or care plan, you agree to what’s below. We’ve kept it plain. Questions? Email hello@thesitesee.com.

What we do

SiteSee designs and builds custom websites for local businesses, then hosts and hands off the finished site. We also offer an optional monthly care planfor ongoing updates, hosting, and small changes after launch. The care plan is never required — the website build is a one-time service that stands on its own.

Demo previews

Before you hire us, we may build a free demo preview of your site using information your business already shares publicly — typically your Google Business Profile (Google Maps) listing: your name, photos, reviews, and hours. A demo is spec work to show you what we’d build. It’s not your final website, it isn’t officially endorsed by you until you hire us, and it may use placeholder content. If you let us know you’re not interested, we take the demo down and remove the contact details we gathered for that outreach.

Pricing and payment

The website build is a one-time fee based on the package you choose (Starter, Standard, or Premium). Founding clients can take 50% off the build with the code FOUNDING10while it’s offered. The current price is the price shown at checkout for your project.

All payments are handled securely by Stripe. You enter your card details on Stripe’s checkout — we never see or store your full card number. The build fee is typically due before launch and handoff; we’ll confirm the exact terms for your project in writing.

The monthly care plan is billed automatically through Stripe at the plan price you choose ($29, $59, or $99 per month) until you cancel. You can cancel care anytime — just email us and we’ll stop the next charge. See our Refund & Guarantee Policy for how refunds work.

What’s included and revisions

Each package describes what’s included — the number of pages, the core features, and a set of design revisions during the build. We’ll agree on the scope before we start. Work clearly beyond that scope (for example, a large new section, custom functionality, or e-commerce not in your package) is quoted separately before we do it, so there are no surprises.

Ownership and handoff

Once the build fee is paid in full, the finished website — its design, pages, and the content you provided — is yours. We hand it off to you and, on request, transfer or export it so you can keep it or move it wherever you like. Until the build is paid in full, the work in progress remains ours. Third-party components, fonts, stock assets, and open-source code stay under their own licenses.

Hosting

We can host your finished site for you, included with an active care plan, or hand it off for you to host elsewhere. We aim for reliable uptime but can’t guarantee the site will be available without interruption, since hosting depends on third-party providers and the internet itself.

Your responsibilities and acceptable use

By working with us, you confirm that:

  • You own or have permission to use the content you give us (text, logos, photos, menus, and so on), and it doesn’t infringe anyone else’s rights.
  • The information you provide about your business is accurate and not misleading.
  • You’ll use the site and our services lawfully — no illegal, deceptive, harmful, or infringing content, and nothing that abuses our hosting or sends spam.
  • You’ll respond in a reasonable time during the build so we can keep your project moving.

We may decline or stop work that breaks these rules or that we’re not comfortable publishing.

Disclaimers

We put real care into every site, but our services are provided “as is.” We don’t promise specific business results — rankings, traffic, leads, or sales — because those depend on many things outside our control. We don’t guarantee the site will be error-free or uninterrupted.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, SiteSee’s total liability for any claim relating to your project or our services is limited to the amount you paid us for that project. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, such as lost profits or lost data.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in New York.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms; if we do, we’ll change the “last updated” date above. For anything in these terms, email hello@thesitesee.com.
